Alpheus Maphosa was the Director of Co-operative Education – Vaal University of Technology and currently serving as the Communications Manager for a top football brand in South Africa. He holds numerous qualifications in engineering and management. He holds a Diploma, Trade Test and Wireman’s License in Electrical Engineering plus SAIM Business Management Programme Certificate and is currently studying Professional Management Development at Gordon’s Institute for Business Science (GIBS). He was the General National Secretary of the Southern African Society for Cooperative Education (SASCE), a National NGO and has served for 4 elected terms since 2004 to 2011. Alpheus was the preferred consultant for USAID UNCF TELP II Project to develop management capacity in the area of co-operative education at the Historically Disadvantaged Institutions of Higher Learning from 2006 to 2008. He has been invited on numerous occasions to speak at conferences held by the World Association for Cooperative Education (WACE). He is a Public Speaker and MC in demand having served clients such as Nedbank, FNB, SPAR, Old Mutual and INSETA. He served on various boards including Automotive Industry Development Centre Employment Skills Development Agency, World Association for Co-operative Education, Vaal University of Technology Council, Central Johannesburg College Council and World Association for Co-operative Education. He also served as advisor to Tshwane University of Technology Work Integrated Learning Planning, South African Graduate Development Agency, Career Exhibitions and Information Association and was Member of South African Graduate Development Association. Amongst the educational institutions he has studied at are: UNISA, CJC, University of Limpopo, GIBS and others. He was nominated, with other experts, to undertake a study tour to ASIA on Employability Improvement on behalf of The Department of Higher Education and Training and Japan International Corporation Agency.
