Gugu Ndima, from Katlehong, Ekurhuleni, found her passion for writing in politics, where she has written and contributed articles on a number of issues pertaining to various socio-economic matters in publications in the print media such as the Sowetan, The Times, Sunday Independent and the Mail and guardian. She continues to write on topical matters.

She has always been an avid and keen debater and that has manifested in the various public speaking work. She largely does public speaking events in corporate and political platforms. She is specifically passionate about the empowerment of black women, whom in her view remain dispossessed and marginalised in the main stream economy, despite the efforts of government through legislation, to eliminate past inequalities and transform the current economic status quo. She has worked in the Young Communist League of South Africa as a National Spokesperson and served in the ANCYL structures in the Region of Ekurhuleni. She was nominated in the 200 Young South Africans Mail and Guardian newspaper feature in 2010 and 2013,and the CEO magazine awarded her the meritorious award as a leader of tomorrow in the Business and Professional sector in the SA’s most influential women in Business and Government. Gugu has worked and contributed in the ANC communications team in Gauteng. She has served as a Media and Communications Officer in the Office of the Chief Whip of the ANC in the Gauteng Legislature and as a Spokesperson in the Office of the Speaker in the Legislature, as well as the MEC of Sport, Recreation, Arts and Culture in the Gauteng Provincial Government. Gugu Ndima has self- published her first fiction book, which is a newly found passion she wishes to continue to pursue further as part of her profile in writing.
