Mr Simphiwe Masiza is an entrepreneur, business leader and the CEO of Empowaworx Group. Masiza holds qualifications from WITS and GIBS, amongst other institutions. He is qualified in project management, strategy, organizational development, organizational management, event management, reputation management, business management, governance and executive leadership. He is the founder and passionate leader of Empowaworx, a premium communications firm with four business divisions – namely Event Management, Speakers Bureau, Media and Brand Design. Masiza began his career as a leadership expert, management consultant and a sought after and energetic corporate MC and keynote speaker.
His keynote address on “High Impact Leadership” then grew into the annual “High Impact Leadership Summits” events featuring luminaries in business, government and civil society. Empowaworx has since 2000, become a specialist in premium leadership & entrepreneurship events with extensive media coverage through events that reach over 64,500 C-suite Leaders, Executives, Professionals, High Potential Individuals and Entrepreneurs – under his able leadership. Simphiwe Masiza holds various directorships as a trusted and seasoned businessman.
Sechaba (CM(SA)) is an internationally experienced professional who passionately and courageously brings to business his gifts of marketing, branding, communication, reputation management, and overall leadership. He is a strong advocate for a holistic approach to the trinity of strategy, implementation and delivery, to drive sustainable business results. He works with business leaders to tease through the reflective high-level question, “how can we create financial and social sustainability in the long run?” His overarching gift is his ability to detach and step back, connect dots and see a pattern in scenarios that seemed separate and unrelated. He has an astounding ability to see beyond obvious scenarios. Throughout his career he has used the gift of a oneness perspective in the various roles he has played. He is a Oneness Approach Teacher.
For the past 20 years, Sechaba has held management and leadership positions in several companies and organisations. He currently serves as executive director on the board of Marketing Association of South Africa (serving as Interim CEO) & non-executive director on the Professional Designation Board for Chartered Marketers and is Guarantor of the ABC (Audit Bureau of Circulation of SA). He serves as Chairman of Council at the Da Vinci Instituted provider of Higher Education.
Brian’s creativity ensures that client briefs are met with precision and urgency. He is known for his quality concept development and unique original designs. Nothing beats his signature touch in applied art and graphic design, campaign development, corporate identity development, art direction, illustration, web design and social media visual elements. Proficient across various design platforms and programmes, his technical skills and attention to detail ensure his innate passion for functional aesthetics shines through. A perfectionist at heart, Brian is an expert in branding and is able to adapt to emerging industry trends.
Lee, attained her 1st qualification in Events management and Conferencing at Damelin and is currently completing her studies in Psychology at Unisa. She proceeded to study further to obtain certificates in Customer Care, Business Studies and Events Management through UCT. Her passion for events started at a young age, as she grew, so did her passion. She started assisting the NMUSRC with events and then proceeded to assist the marketing department at South Point with their PE events. Having loved working with South Point, she took a more permanent position as a student administrator. Her passion later led her to the entertainment industry where she become a radio personality and a plus-size model, with her vibrant, ambitious and resilient personality she is always looking and welcoming new challenges. She loves the event space as it’s where she gets to prove her worth time and time again, her commitment and dedication is seen through her work from the conception to the execution of her projects. She has been in the events space for over 7 years and still going strong.

Charlene, also known as “Cee-Jay”, has extensive knowledge and background in the Fashion Industry, Business Administration, and Strategies. She is creative by trade and has credits in the Fashion and Entertainment Industry. After obtaining her certification and experience in Modelling, Television, and Film, she progressed on to be a Talent Agency Booker. She worked briefly as a Fashion correspondent for the Global Village in New York City before returning back to South Africa.
Charlene was a successful Fashion Designer, Fashion Show Co-ordinator, and Runway Coach. Her love for business administration, internal processes, and strategies has always followed her. She has Certificates and Expertise in Project Management, Online Marketing, Marketing Management, Brand & Product Development, Graphic Design, Creative Web Specialist, and Internal Strategies.
Being creative by heart and trade, she was able to successfully merge the two worlds of fashion and business together. Her outlook is to have an analytic and methodological approach as well as to give creative insight to how brands and its administration communicates, it’s internal processes, and the execution thereof with a hint of personality. She is currently working on obtaining her Six Sigma Green Belt certification.
Oupa Setale is a Media and Events Manager at Empowaworx. Setale holds qualifications in media, management and communications. His experience of over 10 years in radio broadcasting has given him a comprehensive grasp of media communications, advertising, branding, events management and communications. His career began as station manager at VUT FM and Sedibeng FM. He has been honoured with an appointment as a Liberty Radio Awards 2017/18 judge. His ability to manage multiple priorities, networking ability and his drive to deliver beyond client’s expectations gives him an edge in his career. He is a professional with a keen understanding of media campaigns, activations and events management.
Qualified Event coordinator with a demonstrated history of working in the Events Services and BTL industry. Skilled in Event Planning, Customer Service, Event Management,Sales and Microsoft Office. Bachelor’s Degree focused in BTech Tourism Management in Events Management from the Cape Peninsula University of Technology.

Azande has been in the communications and media industry for over seven years, with a background in agency and the corporate sector. She is currently the Head of Brand Activations and Campaigns at Empowaworx Events and Communications.
Azande previously held the position of Acting Head of Corporate Communications at the Vaal University of Technology. Her career highlights include hosting Minister Naledi Pandor for the Launch of the Casting Simulation Network at the VUT Science and Technology Park and successfully organizing the South African Technology Network Conference. She programme directed and coordinated the Italian Business Summit at the Science and Technology Park.
As a strategist and corporate communications specialist, Azande has worked on a variety of brands such as Assupol, Eskom, Nissan, Afrox, Delloite, Skip, Transnet, NSFAS and Tiger Brands developing strategies and rolling out campaigns, product launches and activations. She led the team that launched the Telkom Summer of More PR Campaign in 2018. Her passion lies in creative writing and bringing brand campaigns to life. She has also has had the pleasure of scripting radio adverts and doing voice overs for national campaigns.
Thapelo Leluma is a qualified Digital Marketing Specialist, with a demonstrated history of working in the Media and Advertising industry. Thapelo holds a qualification in BTech:Marketing from Cape Peninsula University of Technology (CPUT).
Thapelo Leluma was part of Ogilvy SA’s graduate programme, a world-class training in Digital Marketing and a number of integrated disciplines. He was then employed at Ogilvy as an Account Executive and later a Junior Digital Analyst. The two roles granted him an early opportunity to immerse himself with Brand Marketing from an analytical, strategic and creative point of view. Thapelo is currently occupying a lead role at EmpowaWorx Events & Communications as a Digital Lead.
For the last 12 months he served as a Digital Analyst and Account Manager for Sun International Properties and Miss SA 2019. In his previous roles, Thapelo has had the privilege of working with clients such as KFC SA, Coca-Cola SA, FNB, MultiChoice and M-NET Channels (Mzansi Magic, VUZU, CHANNEL O, Africa Magic and KykNET).
Pontsho is an experienced and energetic manager of people, processes and events. Her responsibility is to deliver seamless, impeccable events. She manages all Empowaworx Event properties and ensures their consistent growth, annually.
A natural leader and manager who also oversees all office activities, Pontsho also co-ordinates the harmonious flow of the communication between stakeholders, the company and the office during events.

Mrs Zaz Molo, currently working as a Special Projects Lead is an accomplished business woman, a facilitator, life coach, MC and an Inspirational Speaker. Mrs Zaz Molo holds a Diploma in Project Management and various certificates in Customer Relationship Management, Quality Assurance, Call Centre Management and People Management.
She has been instrumental in the development of ICT skills in the Free State, particularly around Welkom, and lectured on the subject at CICT college in the late 1990’s.
Her work in all organizations is outstanding because of her formidable team spirit and understanding of people dynamics. She is involved in various projects pertaining to women, three of the core project are Single Mothers Project, Widows Project and rare disease awareness (Auto Immune disease and Endometriosis), ensuring women are informed, empowered and educated around these issues.
Simphiwe Majola holds a National Diploma in Fashion from TWR – University of Johannesburg; National Diploma in Public Relations Management from PROVOX Centre for Public Relations and Communications. He is a consummate PR professional and has worked with numerous well-known celebrities and brands. Having worked in the fields of fashion, beauty, design, FMCG, broadcast and in government for over 18 years in the industry, he is best described as a “boutique agent” for developing public relations strategies.
Kirsten is a communications specialist who holds a Diploma in Marketing (1994), Diploma in Counselling Psychology (1998), Certificate in Creative Writing (2010) and a Certificate in Life Coaching (2019). With over 20 years of experience within media and marketing fields, in various different roles and industries, Kirsten has a wide range of skills, from strategic planning and creative strategy to writing, editing and communication. Kirsten has been the managing editor of a number of national magazines, as well as a radio show producer with Mix 93.8fm. She has held positions of managing director, creative director, editor, managing editor and communications specialist.
Tshepo is a seasoned professional in public policy, stakeholder relations and strategy execution enablement. While always pragmatic in his approach, he also ensures innovative approaches that add value. His approach is geared towards pursuing a convergence point where the public good (interest) intersects with business strategy, through public policy positioning and stakeholder engagement. Tshepo believes that business cannot be an island of prosperity in a sea poverty and deprivation, while society should create an environment that support business growth.
Throughout his career of over 15 years, Tshepo has occupied leadership and senior management roles, which has brought to sharp focus the need to build positive relationships between social partners, i.e. government, business and civil society. Tshepo’s firm believes in the symbiotic relationship between business and government; this is what drives his approach to building strong relationships that act as bridges during times of conflict and enablers during times of peace. His skills have been honed over the years from his student leadership days to working with multinational organizations and large industry bodies. High Impact Leadership Summit
Successful past events have included two Gauteng events (“in Honour of Dr Richard Maponya”). Gauteng Premier, Mr David Makhura presented the keynote address at this event. We also staged the 2018 event (“in Honour of Ms Felicia Mabuza-Suttle”). Prof Thuli Madonsela presented the keynote address at this event. We also hosted the Vaal High Impact Leadership Summit 2018 (with Prof PLO Lumumba).
Successful past events have included “EmpowaWomen in Oil & Gas”, “EmpowaWomen in Property”, “EmpowaWomen in Media”, “EmpowaWomen in Health & Wellness”, “EmpowaWomen in Transport” and “EmpowaWomen in Leadership”. The events were composed of sector specific conversations that tackled the unique challenges, opportunities and complexities faced by women in leadership.
EMPOWAENTREPRENEURS SUMMIT is an annual event property initiated in 2018. The event was successfully staged at UJ Auditorium in 2018. The event included high level leaders and entrepreneurs such as Mr Peter Moyo (CE: Old Mutual Group), Mr Geoffrey Qhena (CEO: IDC) and JJ Njeke (Seasoned Entrepreneur) to name a few.
Successful past events were held in Gauteng on 16 June as a culmination of various rural and township interventions/Campaigns. The focus of the interventions is on leadership, motivation, HIV/AIDS, Substance Abuse, job readiness and entrepreneurship. It was created in light of the high rate of youth unemployment, socioeconomic transformation requirements and social ills affecting and effected by the youth. This event provides the needed motivation, opportunity brokering and empowering input designed to produce the next generation of leaders and entrepreneurs.
